Projectors can easily run into the thousands of dollars range. But if you are like me and just want an affordable solution when your nephews, nieces, and cousins come over to show kid’s movies on a large screen, this one from DR.J actually works very well for the price. It’s no high end 4K or even 1080P projector, but at this price point the picture quality is better than I had initially thought it would be. The projector is very well protected in the box with lots of foam and also comes with a HDMI cable, power cord, remote control, and user manual.
There are a lot of inputs on this thing. There is HDMI, VGA, SD card, and even a USB port so you can plug in pretty much anything. I plugged in my laptop via the included HDMI cable and loaded up a movie and was impressed. The audio output is kind of low but good thing there is a 3.5mm aux output so you can plug it into larger speakers. I aimed the projector about 15’ away from a white wall and turned off all of the other lights in the house. The picture quality is still just slightly dark but I could still make out very small details in the movie. The native resolution is 840x480 so it is not HD quality so it is just slightly pixelated and blurry. But for kids movies and cartoons, they probably won’t even care as much about the quality and be more amazed at how large the picture projected on the wall is.

If you want a high end projector for giving presentations or reading text, you might want to spend a bit more. But if you just want a normal use projector that works well for what it is and do not mind so much about picture quality, I would recommend this one highly.
